Nearby Areas: Within a 90-minute drive of NYC, including Westchester, Long Island, Northern New Jersey, and parts of Southern Connecticut
Long-Distance Areas: Locations requiring more than a 90-minute drive from NYC
Klavierhaus charges a flat hourly rate for all service types. This includes, but is not limited to:
Piano tuning
Voicing
Regulation
Major and Minor repairs/adjustments
Evaluations or consultations
No matter the type of work performed, time is billed at a consistent hourly rate based on your location.
Manhattan, $325, No travel fee
NYC Boroughs, $325, $25 travel fee
Within 90 mins of NYC, $325, $50 Travel fee + tolls, etc.
Long-Distance, $400, Quoted individually
Important Note: Travel fees are in addition to the hourly service charges and are not built into the rate.
Every appointment is billed for a minimum of one full hour at the applicable hourly rate for your service area.
This minimum applies even if the total service time is less than one hour.
Example:
If a service lasts 45 minutes, it will be billed as 1.0 hour.
Each full hour after the first is billed at the full hourly rate (e.g., $325/hour).
Any time beyond full hours is rounded up to the next 15-minute increment, billed at $85 per 15 minutes.
This policy applies consistently across all locations and service types.
Examples:
1 hour and 10 minutes → billed as 1 hour + one 15-minute increment = $325 + $85 = $410
1 hour and 45 minutes → billed as 1 hour + three 15-minute increments = $325 + $255 = $580
2 hours → billed as two full hours = $325 + $325 = $650
2 hours and 20 minutes → billed as two hours + one 15-minute increment = $650 + $85 = $735
Partial time is never prorated. Any fraction of time past the hour is rounded up to the next full 15-minute block.
Klavierhaus applies travel fees based on the location of the appointment, in addition to the hourly service rate. These fees account for technician travel time, transportation costs, and other related expenses. Travel charges are clearly listed on the invoice and are not included in the hourly rate.
See chart below: Travel Fees by Service Area
Important Notes
Travel fees are billed in addition to the hourly service charge. They are not built into the hourly rate and appear as a separate line item on your invoice.
For locations outside NYC but within a 90-minute radius, Klavierhaus adds actual expenses (such as bridge/tunnel tolls, parking, or entry fees) to the flat $50 travel charge.
For long-distance service, which includes any location beyond a 90-minute commute from NYC, a custom travel fee will be calculated and quoted in advance based on distance, transportation mode, and time commitment.
Customers are encouraged to provide clear details on their piano’s condition and service needs during booking
Technicians can provide estimated timeframes, but billing is based on actual time spent on site, subject to the rounding policy
Travel fees for non-local appointments will be communicated clearly before booking confirmation
Payment is due prior to time of service, unless alternate arrangements have been made
Accepted methods: major credit/debit cards, bank transfers, or invoicing (for institutions or pre-approved clients)
Cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice may be charged a cancellation fee equal to the one-hour minimum rate for the applicable service area

This agreement covers the comprehensive evaluation and restoration of the piano as outlined in the attached Work Order. The Work Order serves as a binding supplement to this estimate and details the specific components to be restored or replaced, including structural, mechanical, and cosmetic elements.
An initial estimate of parts and labor is provided, including a line-by-line breakdown of expected expenses for each major component of the restoration process. These estimates are based on preliminary assessments and may be adjusted as further inspection occurs.
The preliminary cost for the complete restoration is detailed in the accompanying Restoration Estimate. This includes standard materials, labor, and procedures required to complete the restoration as currently understood.
The final price is subject to change due to:
Market fluctuations in material costs,
Additional labor required,
Unforeseen repairs or replacement needs discovered during the restoration process.
Any such changes will be documented and reflected in the final invoice. All significant changes will be communicated in advance.
Restoration is expected to be completed within the timeframe specified in the Restoration Estimate, starting from the confirmed project start date.
Delivery dates are estimates and may change based on:
Availability of specific parts,
Discovery of additional necessary work,
Delays in the supply chain.
Clients will be notified promptly of any anticipated delays.
Estimates are valid for thirty (30) calendar days from the date of issuance. If not accepted within this period, a revised estimate may be issued to reflect updated costs or scheduling.
All payments are due upon receipt of invoice unless otherwise agreed in writing. Tax assessed at time of invoicing
If additional repairs not outlined in the original scope become necessary, the client will receive a written notice including cost implications. No additional work will proceed without prior written or email approval.
Transportation and handling services will be coordinated directly through Klavierhaus-authorized movers. These services are not included in the restoration estimate and will be quoted and billed separately by the authorized mover. Scheduling and logistics will be managed in direct communication with the client.
